Equinox Batik Quilt Kit Block of the Monthor All at Once Quilt Kit - Start Anytime! Awesome Ocean & Sea Urchins Block of the Month or All at Once Quilt Kit Start Anytime!Shivery Snowmen Block of the Month or All at Once Quilt Kit - Begin Anytime!

How Many BOM's do you Have?

Free Blocks of the Month   Block of the Month Kits  Block of the Month Quilt Alongs

Sitting there, in their nice packages or boxes, looking just as pretty as the day we signed up for them.  They are just soooo pretty.  Hey, it is only one a month, I can do that!   x6

How about a challenge to get those Blocks of the Month done!

How the Challenge Works:

Pick up to 6 BOM's that you want to get done this year.  Each BOM must have at least 50% of its blocks to complete.

Tell us how many sets are in each BOM and how many you have left in each BOM.

(edit)  Each month, It is your choice if you want to work on just 1 BOM and get as many done as you can for that BOM, or work on several different BOM sets.  You just have to post a starting picture of each when you are working on them.

Post a starting picture of your BOM you are working on that month (if any, as in my case), which should include what is finished, and the sets to be finished.

You can work on the same BOM each month until you get it done.

Once you complete a block/set, post a picture of the finished block/blocks in the thread.  If you complete the top (A Finish), your name will go in the Grand Prize Drawing.

How to Sign Up:

You can sign up at any time. Just remember, if you sign up mid month, you only have that couple of weeks to work on your blocks.  If you complete a BOM and want to add another, that is ok.  Keep the total at 6 or under.

You must post your list in this thread for sign ups. If you complete a BOM, just cross it out, do not delete it.

Prizes:

Monthly:  For each block/set that you complete for that month, your name will go in a drawing for a prize.  (3 sets= 3 names in the drawing)

Quartely:  Each quarter, each  quilter who has completed a BOM each month, will be entered into the quartely prize drawing.

Year:  Each quilter who completes a BOM Set, put together, quilted and bound (a finish) name will be entered into a Grand Prize Drawing.  Make sure to post a picture of your finish.

Block/Set:  Some BOM are 1 block.  Some BOM's have 2 or 3 blocks in the kit.  You must complete the block or blocks for that kit.

BOM:  Any BOM you are working on.  One you have bought, A quilt a long on this site (I know there are several), or a BOM with your local guild, lqs or group.  Any BOM.

If you have any questions, pm Fabriholic.

I have 2 BOM's that I have signed up for and have not even started

1.  Peppermint Lane from Fat Quarter Shop.  I have 8 of the 12 sets so far.  Expecting 4 more in the mail.

2.  Wisdom from my LQS.  This one just started and I have 3 of those sets.

3.  Where the Cows Come Home.  I have all of these.  It is Applique.  I have about 4 ironed but not stitched.

I have one BOM kit that is 8 years old....where did the time go??!!

It's called "Meet Me in the Meadow, Grandma's Attic Quilt" and it is a 12 month BOM from Patchwork Party Fall 2010.

The block designs and fabric line is by Marti Michell and are by Maywood Fabrics.

I am excited to participate in this BOM Challenge to get this quilt made by the end of the year!!

Click onto picture to enlarge the view, thank you.

I'm really interested in this challenge but I'm going to need some time to pick out my BOM kits. Maybe after Christmas I could take the time to find the ones I'd like to work on....But I've been wanting to work on them and think about it a lot.

I'm not quite understanding the Blocks/Set. Is that what is included in one month's block kit?  Like what is sent to you in one month?

Yes Mimi - Like my winter haven - some of the bom have 1 block in them for the month, some have 3 blocks in them for the month.  SH

I have 2 BOMs to work on and 2 BOWs to finish.

1.  Berries and Blossoms from Shabby Fabrics.  I have all of the 12 blocks and I've finished 6 of them.

2.  Nutcracker Suite - I have the first block and it runs for 9 months.  Haven't started.

BOW mystery from National Quilters Circle - I have all of the patterns and have about 1/2 done - 9 weeks.  I am making 2 of these.

The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing.

What a fun challenge!

I, however, don't have any BOM's. I'll have to check in as you gals progress.

Okay.  Here are my 3 (three):

1.  Thimbleberries Lake (Lake and Lodge were the BOMs of the same year.  Just different colorways and medallion.  It was one of the first years I was quilting so like 8 or 9 years ago (shame on me) and after the first or second month I realized they were way above my capabilities.  So now I am ready to finish them.  Lynette's patterns and fabrics are so great; and her instructions were the best in the business, still are.

2.  Thimbleberries Lodge (see above)

3.  Thimbleberries Safe Haven (purchased from Globug on the QATW Trading Post)

Welcome Tess and Jann, and soon to be Mimi!  Veronica, if you decide to sign up for any, you can join us!

Jann, all that Thimbleberries  warmth and cozyness!  I did not finish Thimbleberries Lodge - It went into my stash.  I did complete Safe Haven and gifted it to my sister when I got it done.

Tess, looking forward to seeing those nutcrackers!  BOW count the same as BOM - Finish one and it counts!!

For anyone else thinking about it, you can join at anytime!

I have 4 that I know of.

1.KY quilt - LQS BOM from wayyyy back.

2. LQS mystery BOM 2008

3.  LQS mystery BOM 2009

4.  LQS mystery BOM 2010

Will not be able to identify how many blocks I have left to do until after the 1st of the year.  They are presently packed away for my move.  Hopefully I will be able to find them.   I do remember that I'm not crazy about 2 of them so I may finish them differently than previously planned.

Okay, I've looked through all my BOM's and think I've narrowed it down to these three for this coming year. And yes there are more.  But we'll see how this goes.

1.  Latimer Farm by Red Crinoline Quilts

2.  Hampton Ridge by Red Crinoline Quilts

3.  Prairie Rose by Quilted Moose (fabrics by Jo Morton, my fav)

This is just what I need!

My BOM’s are Green Tea and Sweet Beans—I’ve done the first three months out of 12.

Kaffee Fassett Mystery— barely started but have all the kits.

I’m doing Midnight at the Oasis, but it hasn’t even started yet.

My other BOMs don’t seem to fit the criteria as they are closer to being finished.

I have more than two, but will start with these two. Save The Bees and Fancy Forest. If those get done I'll pick another.
