Sea Glass

What? 4 patch blocks - 3 inch squares or strips to start - block will be 5 1/2 inches "in your hand" when the 3 inch squares are sewn into a four patch.  The finished size of the block when sewn in a quilt will be 5 inches.

Sea colored batiks - think of greens, blues, light colors with hints of green and blues - keep purples to a minimum and we don't want black or browns as a focus.  If you are not sure of the fabric, post a picture so we can help.

Who? - everyone, this is a very easy block (unless you are in the patch)

Requirements -

We are swapping 4 light colored blocks AND 4 dark colored blocks - 8 blocks to a baggie.

Minimum of 8 swappers - mail 7 sets and keep one for yourself - this will give you 64 blocks.  Fabrics will be QSQ - please make sure they are true batiks and not fauxtiks.  True batiks have no right or wrong side, while fauxtiks do have a right and wrong side.  If you are in doubt, please ask.

Use at least 2 different fabrics in each block - 4 would be better.  Each block in a set should be different.  Try to use at least 6 lights and 6 darks in making your blocks, more would be even better.

Swap Guidelines

PM hostess (Quiltertess), with Name, Nickname, Addy, Phone # and email address.

Label the 7 baggies with Name and Nickname, and Address.  Put your 7 baggies into one large baggie and label with your Name, Nickname, and address.

*****Measure your blocks before mailing******

Make weekly progress reports until your blocks are mailed. (stay away from the patch!)

Include a pre-addressed and stamped return envelope for your blocks.

Deadlines

Blocks should be mailed and postmarked by June 24, 2019.  If mailing from outside of the US, postmark should be June 15, 2019.

Swap sign ups will be open until June 1.

Love this! Need to consider that it's busy gardening season here, and I don't have my woolie banner done yet. I'm thinking hard and *may* join by June 1. Either way, thanks for coming up with a great quilt idea, Tess! Beautiful colors!
